Happy Birthday Isabelle (:

I had a lovely opportunity to photograph a cute little birthday girl by the name Isabelle as she turned one. She was the cutest kid ever, with no tantrums and always smiling for the cameras. The party was nothing like i had attended before. Since the family was a mixture of Telugu and Malayali culture , the the dress theme was white sarees with golden border for the women and the 'lungi-like' white and gold dress for the men, and everyone stuck to it! It all looked so pretty and elegant (:
There was karaoke playing and Isabelle's father was the first to sing some lovely songs in Malayali, English and Hindi. Soon the rest of the guest joined in and sang in turns to an absolutely delightful evening. Isabelle's three year old brother sang the cutest ever birthday song for his little sister as the cake was being cut. The party ended with the Pastor praying for the birthday girl and blessing her family and her parents thanking everyone for having been a part of the celebrations.
It was a truly delightful experience as a photographer, to have been given the opportunity to photograph such amazing moments, to be a part of families and their emotions, to meet new people, to interact with them, to learn about their cultures and most importantly, to be able to do what i love.
wishing little isabelle all the happiness and goodness in the world and hereafter (:
cheers!

beauty in lil things

I love photographing weddings, one of the main reason being the opportunity to capture the beauty around. Beauty that makes you smile, beauty that keeps you energised even at 2 in the night at an assignment, beauty that makes a photographer's job so delightful and easy. And this beauty lies in the little little things around. The bride getting ready, the Mehendi, the flowers, the bangles, the decor, the jewellery and the bride herself! (:
Here are some photographs from various weddings/events i have covered, depicting the beauty that lies in the tiny things around.

Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque

I have been wanting to write this post since a really long time now. Finally its here!

The Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates and the eighth largest mosque in the world. The mosque site is equivalent to the size five football fields approximately. It is named after the sheikh of Abu Dhabi.

The design of the Mosque has been inspired by both Mughal and Moorish mosque architecture. The courtyard, with its floral design is symbolic to the gardens of paradise. The carpet in the main prayer hall is considered to be the world's largest carpet. The Mosque has seven imported chandeliers from Germany that incorporate millions of Swarovski crystals.

I visited the the mosque at night which helped me view the glorious reflections of  the mosque's spectacular columns in the pools along the arcades.

The mosque houses state of the art ablution rooms with onyx flooring and tile work.
